As renewable energy and grid expansion accelerates globally, the challenge is no longer whether we scale up - but how we do so in a way that delivers for both Nature and People.
The GINGR Annual Report 2025 highlights a pivotal year of progress, as the initiative moves from concept development towards practical, decision-ready solutions. It showcases how GINGR is helping translate global ambition into measurable delivery - through common metrics, credible monitoring, and globally aligned reporting approaches.
Over the past year, GINGR has advanced its four Technical Working Groups, covering offshore wind, biodiversity metrics, grid infrastructure, and People-Positive approaches. Together, these efforts are forming the backbone of our global frameworks designed to support governments, industry, finance, and civil society in delivering a Nature- and People-Positive energy transition.
The report also reflects GINGR’s growing convening role at key international moments, including the IUCN World Conservation Congress and COP30, where the need for clear standards, practical tools, and credible metrics emerged as a central priority for scaling renewable energy responsibly.
Looking ahead, 2026 marks a major milestone. GINGR will move into piloting - testing its frameworks in real-world contexts and working with partners to refine tools that make biodiversity gains and community benefits measurable, comparable, and investable.
We invite you to explore the full Annual Report and join a growing global community working to ensure the energy transition strengthens ecosystems, supports communities, and delivers lasting impact.
