How can renewable energy and grid companies move beyond biodiversity reporting requirements and use them to drive meaningful Nature-Positive action?
As the energy transition accelerates, companies face an increasingly complex landscape of reporting frameworks, disclosure requirements, lender expectations and emerging approaches to Nature-Positive action. Yet navigating this expanding reporting landscape, understanding what good practice looks like and turning Nature-Positive ambitions into practical action can be challenging.
To help bridge this gap, the Global Initiative for Nature, Grids and Renewables (GINGR) is pleased to introduce its new GINGR Nature-Positive Navigator: Connecting Reporting and Action for Renewables and Grids.
The Navigator provides practical guidance to support renewable energy developers, grid operators and other stakeholders on their Nature-Positive journey. It provides a structured approach to help practitioners assess their current position, identify relevant expectations and frameworks, and determine practical steps towards stronger biodiversity performance at the project and organisational levels.
Rather than introducing another standard, the Navigator helps companies navigate existing frameworks and best practice and identify opportunities to strengthen their Nature-Positive journey. In doing so, it contributes to GINGR’s wider ambition to promote greater alignment, transparency and measurable biodiversity outcomes across the renewable energy and grid sectors.
Join the conversation: Beyond Compliance
The Navigator will be presented during GINGR’s upcoming webinar, Beyond Compliance: Navigating Biodiversity Reporting for a Nature-Positive Energy Transition.
The session will introduce the Navigator, explain its structure and methodology, and walk participants through an example user case, thereby illustrating how reporting can become a valuable tool for guiding action rather than simply meeting compliance obligations.
