Join us on 17 November at COP31 as we introduce AGENT, a new initiative to accelerate the transition towards renewable energy and electricity grids that benefit the climate, nature and people.
The world urgently needs to accelerate renewable energy deployment and expand electricity grids to meet global climate goals. At the same time, this transformation must contribute to protecting and restoring biodiversity while supporting local communities.
But how can we turn these interconnected ambitions into practical action at scale?
At COP31, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Renewables Grid Initiative (RGI) will introduce AGENT – Accelerating a Global and Nature-Positive Energy Transition.
Developed under the UNFCCC Global Climate Action Agenda and its Plan to Accelerate Solutions, AGENT aims to bring together governments, industry, financial institutions and civil society to advance a more integrated approach to the energy transition.
Building on GINGR’s work to develop practical guidance, assessment tools and approaches for measuring Nature- and People-Positive outcomes, AGENT seeks to strengthen collaboration and accelerate implementation, moving beyond commitments towards measurable progress.
Join us at COP31
The launch event will bring together representatives from across sectors to explore how AGENT can support the delivery of global climate and biodiversity goals, encourage stronger cooperation and help make Nature- and People-Positive renewable energy and grid development a reality.
